A Brilliant Thing CIC helps organisations redesign how work happens.

Our learning and development programmes, training and projects build capacity, adapt to real life and create systems that deliver real results.

We use Healing-Centred Design® and Human Skills. These approaches blend trauma-informed practice, systems thinking and creative coaching to rebalance pressure, strengthen collaboration and transform work.

What we do

Restructure, leadership change or team pressure?

We offer training on trauma-informed practice, Human Skills, conflict navigation, coaching and facilitation skills. We deliver bespoke team and board workshops and organisational development programmes, that build trust, connection and sustainable performance.

System challenge or partnership opportunity?

We offer place-based systems change support including community development, co-production, partnership development, research and impact mapping with councils, NHS and VCSE organisations.

Our professional learning community – The Human Skills Network- provides connection and shared learning for people leading change in complex systems.

Operational pressure blocking strategic progress?

We offer creative strategy, planning and development sessions focused on collaboration, innovation and long-term impact.

Development is supported with our range of practical resources including coaching cards and toolkits.

Feedback and Testimonials

A Brilliant Thing CIC helps organisations redesign work through trauma-informed learning and development and systems change work. Here’s what people are saying about working with us.

The National Lottery Heritage Fund Leadership team:

“Enabled us to recognise the complexity in teams and programmes, and choreograph processes and ways of working to change things.”

Dr Sula Windgassen PhD MSc, Health Psychologist

A wonderfully accessible and reassuring framework that is truly inspiring, compassionate and much needed.”

Business Development Lead, 1Point Bolton

“I used your framework and it worked brilliantly in my coaching group supervision today, using this model worked far better than the dry unimaginative models taught.”

Zoe Porter, Associate Director: Live Well & Neighbourhoods, NHS Greater Manchester

For the past 18 months, we’ve been working on how to develop a new grant fund across Greater Manchester that brings in more resources for communities and ensures that funding reaches people most affected by inequality.

This work has been a collective effort, involving many people and organisations, including 10GM and associated infrastructure organisations, NHS GM and GMCA.

I’d particularly like to thank Kerry Tottingham for her calm and positive ongoing support. Alongside the GM Systems Changers, who carried out community research, she has helped produce a detailed and thoughtful evaluation of the first year, which you can read here.

Kerry, Faye and Tess, sisters behind A Brilliant Thing CIC helps organisations redesign work through Healing-Centred Design, Human Skills and trauma-informed systems change.

We are the sisters behind A Brilliant Thing CIC. We know that working in healthy ways is the most powerful way to change how we live and work. We care about the people delivering services, running the organisations and doing the community projects. Our joint focus on wellbeing and leadership means learning and development with us creates lasting impact and feels brilliant!

Together we bring a depth of skills in therapeutic counselling, coaching, organisational and community development, people management, design-thinking and experience across charity, NHS, public and private sectors. Inspiration and transforming potential into reality is what A Brilliant Thing means to us.
